The Sweet or Sugar varieties being liable to rot in cold, wet ground, should qo1 be planted before the middle of May, and for a succession continue planting every two weeks until July, in rich, well manured ground, in hills three feet apart each way, covering about half an inch, and thin out to t hree plants to a hill, or plant in rows four feet apart, and to stand eight inches apart in the rows. The held varieties should be planted four feet apart each way. leaving three plants bo a hill. One quart to .' hills, ten Quarts to an acre. Yciv early, dwarf variety; an excellent sort, sweet, and of rich llavor, desirable tor private or market gardens White Cory. Similar to the above but with white cobs Burbank's Early. As early as the Cory. It has a pure white cob, with a rich, cream white kernel, sweet and juicy Early Marblehead. This resem- bles very closely the Cory, but is not so early Crosby's Extra Early. The best early sorts, very sweet and of tine flavor. Ears rather short, averaging from twelve to sixteen rows. An excellent market vari- ety, and largely grown for canning.
