XIV. Be it further Enacted by the Authority aforesaid, Thatupon Complaint made to any one Justice of the Peace, against anyNegro, Indian, or Mulatto Slave or Slaves, who have or are supposedto have committed any of the Murders, Rapes, Mayhems, Insurrectionsor Conspiracies, mentioned in this Act, the said Justice is imme-diately to issue his Warrant to the next Constable, to apprehend thesaid Offender or Offenders, and for all or any Person or Personsto come before him, that can give evidence; and if, upon Ixamina-tion, it appears that the Slave or Slaves apprehended, are guilty,he shall commit him, her, or them to Pr
