The Theatre R-oyal, Cote street, is a neat brickbuilding, handsomely fitted up, and will accommodate about1500 persons. The Jail, at the east end of St. Mary street, is asubstantial pile of stone buildings, surrounded by a wall;the erection of which cost over $120,000. THE VICTORIA BRIDGE. It is understood (hat this stupendous undertaking will becompleted in the fall of 1859 or early in the year cost of this gigantie structure was originally estimatedat £1,450,000, but this sum has since been reduced, andthe present calculati« n of its probable cost is about£1,250,000. It i? supposed that in its erection tonsof stone and 7,500 tons of iron have been used. The ironsuperstructure is supported on 24 piers and two centre span being 330 feet ; there are 12 spans on eachside of the centre, 242 feet each. The length of the abut-ments is 242 feet each.
