A Military Merit Order - an Officer's Cross with Swords Breast cross in silver gilt issue by the Jacob Leser firm in Straubing, second half of World War One. The reverse is marked " 950", the inside of the pin hinge is engraved with "S" for silver, which was in accordance with the delivery contract of 1 January 1917 in order to differentiate those decorations made of gold from the gilt variety which was to be produced from that point onrward.
