The exercise provides an opportunity to enhance multilateral capabilities in critical mission sets inherent to the Navy-Marine Corps, as well as partners and allies in the region. The 24th MEU, part of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group, is deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
