Young gypsy sisters both beautifully dressed wearing their matching skirts, tights and pink wellington boots are shopping with their mother at the Stow Horse Fair market stalls. A Royal Charter dating back to 1476, has allowed people for over 500 years to descend on the Gloucestershire Cotswold market town of Stow-on-the-Wold for the May and October one day bi-annual gypsy gathering of the Stow Horse Fair. Today the modern fair still consists of the public and horse dealers buying and selling horses, especially the now popular black and white gypsy cob horse, as well as the many market store holders selling country goods, clothing and equestrian equipment.
