Lighting Rates The rates for all lighting have been placed at fivecents per kilowatt hour less ten per cent, for prompt pay-ment. It is expected that twenty-four hour power will beavailable after January ist, and in addition to a very largenumlier of lighting consumers, there is over 600 inmotors ready to run with Niagara power. This does notinclude over 800 required to run the pumps for the. Manager F. R. Dark citys water supply, and which are now running at night,and pumping water into the citys mains. Power Celebration. It was decided to hold an exhibition to celebratethe arrival of Hydro-Electric power and to enable thevarious manufacturers to place their electrical appliancesbefore the public so they might see the advantages ofusing electric power for heating and cooking as well aslighting their homes. To this end invitations were sentto the various manufacturers and the use of the Armourieswas secured for three days, beginning December festoons were placed on the streets, the var-ious public buildings were decorated and illuminated anda large and striking electric sign shown in accompanyingfigure, was placed on the City Hall.
