And this History of Lace will not havebeen written in vain if we make it clear that England was the first to makethe beautiful lace called Point dAngleterre. The industry still exists inDevonshire, where Honiton point absolutely represents the Point d Angleterreof the seventeenth century ; the only difference being in the poverty of the presentdesigns.
