A Mid-Byzantine encolpion with Mary and St. John, 10th - 11th century, Large and heavy bronze reliquary cross, closed with a hinge at top and bottom. The pin closure missing at bottom, replaced at top by a piece of wire (probably from the time of use), keeping the suspension ring in place at the hinge. On both sides very fine and intricate engraved decorations. Maria Theotokos in prayer position, either side arm of the cross adorned with one fish.
