More than 500 new homes are set to be built on farmland on the outskirts of Leyland through the government's housing agency. Homes England and Keepmoat Homes are behind plans for two housing developments off Flensburg Way, Farington, which will see 520 homes built on land off Croston Road and Moss Lane. The land itself has been marked out for new houses under the South Ribble Local Plan, with the houses set to be split into two developments; one for 399 houses and a second for 121 houses split across the parcels of land. South Ribble Borough Council granted general planning permission for the 399 house development back in March 2016, with detailed plans - known as 'reserved matters' - now before council planning officials to be rubber-stamped.
