Asters arc beginning to eonie into the market, but tliey iire not jjlentiful and the outlook at the present time is that the early cro]) will be below normal. In this section there has been nuicli dry weather, with now and then liard rain storms. Many plants were killed by the dry weather and the strong, beating rain broke down or washed out many plants. One grower who had about 1,500 plants will have only 300 or 600 that will bloom. Tliis will mean higher prices for asters this year. Various Notes. I'hilips Bros, 938 Broad street, have made new benches iu the greenhouse l)ack of tlieir store and have replaced all the broken glass with new glass. The interior of the store has also been repainted. The Kosary I"'loral Co., Market street, lias an attractive summer window dis- play, which attracted the attention of large numbers of passers-by. In the center of the window is a large tank iif w'ater, in which are a number of ducklings. Ferns and other ])lants are banked around the sides and ))ack of the tank. A. Begerow, 946 Broad street, has a tank in his window in which there are a number of goldfish. There is a back- ground of ferns. Charles J. Connelly, 320 Bank street, rejjorts business about normal for the summer season. R. B. M. Mr. Greenhouse Man! Do your greenhouses need repairs? Now is the time to have Ihem put in good shape for the coming winter. We do everything in conneclion with the erection and repairing of greenhouses. S
