More than a thousand people gathered to demonstrate on Dam Square, to show their support for the recent plight of the Afghans’, now at the mercy of the Taliban. The Dutch government has designated Afghanistan an unsafe country, meaning that refugees are entitled to protection and pollical asylum. Today’s demonstration was organized by ‘Azadi’, a movement of young Dutch Afghans, now part of an international movement ‘Stop Killing Afghans Now. The movement arranged 15 demonstration through-out Europe and American cities. After the initial demonstration on Dam Square, a protest march took place through the streets of Amsterdam.
