Prior to his deployment, he was assigned to the Colorado Army National Guard’s Battery B, 3rd Battalion, 157th Field Artillery in Aurora, Colo. He had also served on the Colorado Honor Guard for more than a year. He and his wife Launa would have celebrated their eight wedding anniversary on Wednesday.
