Mirio medieval necropolis in Santa Croce Camerina. Sicily


The tombs in the necropolis of Mirio are dated between the fourth and fifth century. therefore belong to the late imperial period. All the tombs are of various sizes and subdiali indicating a distribution of the dead ranging from childhood to adulthood. The necropolis insists on a more ancient burial ground dating from the Middle Bronze Age as evidenced by the presence of a tholos tomb with dock spared behind.
