Biological illustrations. 18th-century journal page with various artworks, including: the genital anatomy of a male opossum (down left); arthropods from human skin with their eggs (top right); post-mortem heart growth from a 1-year-old child (centre right); and bone disorders (lower right). This page is from volume 5 of the 1734 edition of 'The Philosophical Transactions', an abridged collection of papers from the Royal Society. In these abridged collections, artworks from several different papers would be included on a single page. The papers in this collection were all published in 'Philosophical Transactions' in the period 1703 to 1712.
