Fracking - anti-fracking sign on Preston New Road opposite cuadrilla's controversial fracking site. Despite local residents and Lancashire County Council rejecting Cuadrilla permission to frack the site at Little Plumpton, Blackpool, Sajid Javid, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, overturned the decision. Residents have fought against plans to frack for shale gas in the Fylde for around 6 years. Protests have been increased and direct action with lock-ons have occured frequently.
