The signature on the lower right not clearly legible. A comprehensive advisory opinion written by the inaugurated art expert Dr. H. Ludwig ascribes the picture to Ferdinand Piloty. Kaiser Maximilian on horseback with his entourage greeted by town dignitaries and receiving the key to the city. The picture was supposed to serve as a model for a cycle of frescos in the old Bavarian National Museum in Muni, Artist's Copyright has not to be cleared
