North Lanarkshire Hertage Centre, formerly Motherwell Heritage Centre was opened in 1996 as a local museum. It is now more of an archive where papers and articles of local history are kept. There are regular exhibitions featuring aspects of local history and it keeps papers relating to genealogy is a viewing tower which offers panoramic views over the town
