The performance David la forza della bellezza. Performed in Florence on Monday November 15 2010. It's One of the perfomances that took place in Firenze for the first edition of FLORENS 2010 The international week of the cultural and environmental properties. Starting from the historical sources and the original Renaissance texts available, this unique event reconstructs that which Leonardo da Vinci, Sandro Botticelli and PierSoderini, among others, imagine. A reproduction to scale of Michelangelo's David appears at dawn on the first scarp of the right apse of the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, where the Opera del Duomo committee, in 1464, had probably decided to place a monumental statu e of a prophet. During the night the copy of the David is moved to the churchyard of Cattedrale di S. Maria del Fiore, the site suggested by Sandro Botticelli in the debate of 25th January 1504. It remains here all day - until midnight - to enrich the already spectacular view of the Prato di San Zenobi. the historical cortege of Palagio dei Capitani di Parte Guelfa, escorts the statue from Piazza Duomo to Piazza della Signoria evoking,with characters in Renaissance costume, the route Michelangelo's original took in 1504 protected by a wooden structure of ingenious workmanship.
