The following formulas of insecticides for the destruction of the various pests that affect citrus trees have proved the most effectual in this State: (1) Rosin Solution. (For the Red and the Yellow Scale on citrus trees.) Rosin 20 pounds. Caustic soda (70 per cent) 7 pounds. Fish oil 3 pints. "Water, to make 100 gallons. Place the rosin, caustic soda, and fish oil in a boiler, pour over them about 20 gallons of water, and cook thoroughly over a brisk fire for three hours; then add hot water, a little occa- sionally, and stir well, until diluted to 50 gallons of hot solu- tion. Place this in the spray tank and add cold water to make the necessary amount.
