The cast-iron swan fountain sits in the El Delirio garden at Lachryma Montis, the home of General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, the California rancher who settled in the Sonoma Valley in the 1830s. He built his home here in the 1850s, and the swan fountain probably dates from that period.
