A View of Fare Harbour, Huahine, Whole drawing. A view of the harbour of Huahine Fare Harbour. with peaked mountains, including Mount Turi, in the background. In the bay is the 'Resolution' and many native craft, and on the shore a group of natives tend a double canoe with a deck-house. In the background and along the shore are native huts and English tents. The view gives the location of Omai's settlement. Captain Cook had agreed with the chiefs for a place for Omai to settle. Carpenters from both ships built a small house for him, and other members of the crew made a garden, including planting vines and pineapples. Captain Cook visited Huahine between 12 October and 2 November 1777. Image taken from the Drawings executed by John Webber during the Third
