Terracotta kylix (drinking cup), Archaic, early 5th century , Greek, Boeotian, Terracotta, H. 2 3/4 in. (7 cm); diameter 6 1/8 in. ( cm); width with handles 8 1/4 in. ( cm), Vases, Exterior, palmettes. The black-figure technique and its variant, silhouette, were practiced well into the fifth century in Boeotia. Their survival probably facilitated the appearance of a full-blown figural style in the so-called Cabiric vases of the fourth century B
