All three Veterans received a letter from Maj. Gen. Rich Neely, the Adjutant General of Illinois and Commander of the Illinois National Guard. Gould also received gifts from his old unit and Brock's current unit, the 1-122nd Field Artillery. Jaffe received a letter from 1st Air Cavalry Brigade Commander Col. Timothy Jaeger, who wrote from the brigade’s deployment to Europe. The 1st Team also sent Jaffe a unit patch and T-shirt.
