Blagaj Fortress, locally known as Stjepan-grad, or Stipan-grad, or Old Town of Blagaj, in classical times Bona, is a town-fortress complex near the town of Blagaj, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The old Blagaj Fort was built on a high, inaccessible karst hill, at an elevation of 310 metres (1,020 ft) above sea level and 266 metres (873 ft) above the source of the river Buna. Stjepan Vukčić Kosača (1404–1466) was the most powerful nobleman in the Kingdom of Bosnia in his time. A member of the Kosača noble family, he became Grand Duke of Bosnia upon the death of his uncle Sandalj.
