A special method of handling /2 fare passengers is in useon the Southwest Missouri Electric Railway Co., of WebbCity, Mo., which is as follows: The conductors buy fromthe office a pad of yi fare tickets—20 in a pad—for whichthey pay $1. These tickets are sold on the cars to yi farepassengers at 5 cents each, and the conductor punches theticket and hands it to the passenger but does not ring upthe 5 cents received. The punched /-fare ticket is thengood for another ride when presented by a passenger, from5 to 12 years of age, and it is then rung up and turned inby the conductor receiving it.
