Nystan antifungal medication. Box containing a ready mixed oral suspension of the antifungal medication nystatin, marketed under the name Nystan. Nystatin (originally named Fungicidin) is a polyene antifungal medication that is effective against many moulds and yeast infections, including Candida. Due to its toxicity nystatin is only safely given orally or topically due to its minimal absorption through mucocutaneous membranes such as the gut and the skin.
