In he became an activepartner in the busi-ness, and bought out,o n e - b y - o n e, thetwelve other ownere,until he possessed al>solute control. InMay. 18 90, he sold hisbusiness, and closedan active commercialcareer of thirty-fiveyears duration. In (Jctober, 1854,Mr. Fitch marriedEllen Elizal)eth Wil-bur, who died Fel>ruary 13th, 1874,leavinga son, Walter Wilbur Fitch, whowas born in 1859, and died Decemberititli, 1888. Mr. Fitch married again, in1875. Olive Elizabeth Wilmot. Mr. andMrs. Fitch have a daughter. ElizabethWilbur Fitch, born April 10th, 1884.
