A torso of a warrior, marble sculpture of the 19th century based on an ancient model, Muscular body of a warrior in contrapposto, a sword belt fitted tightly over his chest without attached sword. Posture and tight sword belt remotely recall the statue of Diomedes created by Kresilas, of which a Roman copy is preserved and which also might have inspired the sculptor of the statue at hand. Surface slightly knocked, the engaged leg with iron pin at the bottom where the statue once was mounted on a base. Height 45 cm. Attractive torso.
