He has filled the ofHce of Statesuperintendent of Sunday schools inMillard Stake, Ward superintendent ofSunday school in Fillmore Ward anda member of the High Council of Mil-lard Stake. Civilly he has served as amember of the legislature, and hasheld several other offices under theJaw. The principal part of Elder Cal-listers life has been devoted to theservice of the public. ANDERSON, Christian, Bishop ofFillmore, Millard county, Utah, wasborn May 6, 1840, at Gulborg, Brarupparish, Falster, Denmark. He was. baptized March 9, 1854, by Elder N. , and was called to labor as alocal missionary on the islands ofFalster and Lolland, in May, , he labored as a missionary in Val. 1, No. 34. the city of Copenhagen. In 1862 heemigrated to Utah, and located inGunnison, Sanpete county. He movedto Richfield, Sevier county. In 1865,where he resided till the spring of1867, when, on account of the Black-hawk war, he, together with the restof the settlers, vacated that settlement. In the spring of 1868 he movedto Fillmore, Millard county, where heha<^ resided ever since. He was or-dained a Seventy in 1873, and became apresident in the 42nd quorum. In 1876he was ordained a High Priest andchosen as a member of the High Coun-cil of the Millard Stake. Since 1879 hehas served as Stake clerk, and since1887 he has also been Stake
