The Hoy Monument stands high at the northern end of St Catherines Down , Isle of Wight, UK.


Built by Michael Hoy in 1814 on St Catherines Down, Isle of Wight, the monument commemorates the visit of the Russian Tsar to Great Britain, also being known as the "Russian Monument". There is also a plaque dated 1857 plaque commemorating the soldiers killed in the Crimean War. The Hoy Monument was repaired in 1992 at a cost of £85,000, which was donated.
