Aleppo, Syria. 26 April 2021. The so-called pink supermoon is seen from the skies of the Aleppo countryside half way through the Islamic month of Ramadan. The full moon of April 2021 is appearing 30 per cent brighter and 14 per cent larger than previous full moons and marks the middle of Ramadan. The moon is of particular significance in Islam as the Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar with the month of Ramadan beginning with the sighting of the crescent moon. In the Islamic calendar the 26 April 2021 corresponds to 14 Ramadan 1442 Hijri
