Many people took part in this year's New Years Day "Loony Dook" in Portpartick harbour to raise funds for MND Scotland (Motor Neurone Disease) charity in memory of ACKEE (Alan) PATERSON, a prominent member of the local community who died of the disease earlier this year at the age of 53. ACKEE PATERSON had been member of the local coastguard and as a talented footballer was the manager/trainer of the local football team and in his honour many of the "Loonies" took part in football strips.
