In 1691 the relations be-tween Transylvania and the House of Aus-tria were settled in the Diploma of Leopold treaty formed the fundamental pact ofTransylvania until 1867 and established theautonomy of Transylvania. All the emperorswho succeeded Leopold I respected this Emperor Francis Joseph even recognizedthis State by a document dated June 15, 1863.
