Customised football boot. Researcher holding the Assassin, a laser-engineered customised football boot produced by the UK company Prior 2 Lever  (P2L). It uses a process called selective laser sintering to produce an outsole fitted to the customer's foot. The uppers are handcrafted. This work was carried out with the Rapid Manufacturing Research Group at the University of Loughborough, UK, where this photograph was taken. The Assassin was launched in April 2006.
