The estate is under the joint managementof Mr. Townley and his youngest son, Frank A.,whose excellent judgment and discrimination makehim a valuable assistant to his parent. The busi-ness carried on is general farming and the stock isall of a high grade, Short-horn cattle being raisedto a considerable extent, although not made aspecialty of. Mr. Townley is the youngest son of Nicholas andHannah () Townley,whose history is given inthe sketch of Richard Townley on anotlier page. Hewas born in New York, April 2, 1829, and came tothis county with his mother and the younger mem-bers of the family in 1835, the father having comea few months previous. They located on the farma part of which he now owns, and where the par-ents rif.
