A framed portrait entitled 'Sua Maesta Umberto Re d'Italia (His Majesty King Umberto of Italy ) ----( 1844 – 1900) '. He was otherwise known as Umberto I & Umberto Rainerio Carlo Emanuele Giovanni Maria Ferdinando Eugenio di Savoia and was King of Italy from 9 January 1878 until his assassination on 29 July 1900. He was killed by anarchist, Gaetano Bresci, two years after the Bava Beccaris massacre in Milan which the king supported. born in Turin, which was then capital of The Kingdom of Piedmont Umberto was the son of Victor Emmanuel II and Archduchess Adelaide of Austria.
