Chesil Beach, view north west at Chiswell, Portland, Dorset, England, UK.

Chesil Bank is a splendid example of a linear type storm beach of flint and chert pebbles, which commences at Bridport Harbour and finishes 29 km away at Chiswell, beneath the cliffs of Portland. It's maximum height, about 14 m above mean sea level, and pebble size, is to be found at the Portland end. It is generally between 150 and 200 m wide.
