Lake Erie's visit was in support of a number of combined events designed to mark the sacrifices and achievements of World War II veterans. Retired Adm. Ronald Hays, a former commander of Pacific Command, along with Commander of Logistics Group Western Pacific, Rear Adm. Kevin Quinn, represented the Navy during the ceremony.
