China: Prince Yun'e (28 November 1683 - 18 October 1781), 10th son of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. Hanging scroll painting, early 18th century. Yun'e, born Yin'e, was the 10th son of Emperor Kangxi. His mother was Noble Consort Wenxi, giving him the second most prestigious maternal family background aside form Crown Prince Yinreng. He was forced to change his name after the Yongzheng Emperor ascended in 1722, to avoid a naming taboo. He was accused of treason by his brother in 1724, stripped of his title and placed under house arrest, where he would remain until being released in 1735.
