He is the author of numerous pub-lications relating especially to German matters,among which are the following: A Practical Cler-man Grammar; a Life of Schiller; editions CHARLES NELSON JONES was gradu-ated Bachelor of Arts from Oberlin C^oUege in 187 1874 he was appointed Instructor in Mathemat-ics in the flniversity of Michigan, and in 1878 wasadvanced to the rank of Assistant Professor. CHARLES FREDERICK STERLING, a graduate of Palte Medical College, Cincinnati, in1S77, and a practitioner of Detroit, Michigan, wasappointed professor of Ophthalmology and Otologyin the HomcKopathic Medical College of the Uni-versity in 1SS7 and held the office for two then retired to devote hnriself wholly to practice,and later abandoned medicine for business pursuits.
