The Hadza, or Hadzabe,[3][4] are an indigenous ethnic group in north-central Tanzania, living around Lake Eyasi in the central Rift Valley and in the neighboring Serengeti Plateau. The Hadza number just under 1,000.[1][5] Some 300–400 Hadza live as part-time hunter-gatherers, although the increasing impact of tourism and encroaching pastoralists pose serious threats to the continuation of their traditional way of life.
