Tou asked my advice as to What college you should go to but did not say whether you intend to stick to California or go fest. Personally I have a very high opinion of both Stanford and the University of Ualifornia, although both have grown so large in recent years that the important element of personal touch with the professors must be largely a thing of the past. If you are aiming to become a naturalist 1 think you would find-the biological course at Stanford better adapted to your needs thm similar courses in other universities.
