The area is popular for tourists and the main attraction seems to be walking through this rugged and most beautiful of natural landscapes. This photograph was taken in summer near the town of Goathland, Yorkshire. In the distance can be see a steam train operated wholly by volunteers which operates between Pickering in Grosmont, both in Yorkshire. The company responsible for operating the steam railway is the North Yorkshire Moors Railway which started operations in 1973.
