The Scandinavian authors pictured here are Norwegian writer and 1903 recipient of Nobel Prize in Literature Bjornstjerne Bjornson (1832-1910) wrote, among other works, A Happy Boy and Magnhild; and Norwegian playwright, theater director, and "father of realism" and one of founders of Modernism Henrik Ibsen (1828-1906) is best known for his play "The Wild Duck." Another play is "Hedda Gabler." The illustration dates to 1899.
