The Murar Reis Mosque in Rhodes is one of the oldest mosques on the island, built less than a year after the Ottoman conquest in 1523. It is located very close to the Rhodes Prefectural Building and was constructed on the site of the Aghios Antonios Church next to the cemetery of the Knights. The exterior of the mosque boasts an ornate minaret from which the call to prayer has been heard down through the centuries.
