Healthy bladder, coloured cystogram X-ray. Cystography is a diagnostic technique in which a contrast medium is introduced to the bladder in order to highlight it on an X-ray. This is retrograde cystography, where the medium is introduced through a catheter in the urethra, rather than into the urine. The bladder is responsible for storing urine produced by the kidneys (not seen).
