Holy Gate of the Cathedral, Plaza da Quintana de Vivos, Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña, Galicia, Spain. The Holy Gate of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela is located in the Plaza da Quintana de Vivos, in the center of the city. This door opens only every year in the month of July to receive the pilgrims who culminate their pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela and the sanctuary of the Apostle Santiago and preserve the faith and historical tradition of Santiago Conservar. As the pilgrims arrive through the portal, they sing the anthem "Come to Santiago, Santiago de Compostela". It is one of the most visited temples in Spain, and it is the destination of the many pilgrims who travel the Route of Santiago every year. The Holy Door of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela was converted into a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO organization in 1985.
