A Waning Gibbous Moon. The Hague, The Netherlands. Tuesday 3rd November, 2020. A Waning Gibbous Moon and terminator top right in a clear night sky. The Moon’s surface known as regolith, was mostly descried as grey or a little on the brown side by American Apollo astronauts. The surface is far from bland but is laden with mineral deposits. The colour can be enhanced in an imaging editing program by slightly saturating the photo. The brown is (iron), the blue (titanium). Orange and purple show regions poor in iron and titanium. The image was taken with a Nikon D810. 100 Iso, f15 at 200th sec. The telescope was a Maksutov-Cassegrain f/1900mm f15, D = 127mm. © Charles M Vella/Alamy Stock photo
