Prayer Wheels at Stupa of Swayambhunath Kathmandu Nepal

The hill top buddhist stupa of Swayambhunath is also known as the monkey temple due to the large tribe of monkeys that inhabit the site. There is a continuous series of these prayer wheels around the base of the stupa, and Tibetan pilgrims walking round the stupa spin them as they pass by. Each wheel carries the sacred mantra "om mani padme hum" (hail to the jewel in the lotus)
